About this website

This is Christopher Nathaniel’s personal website. It brings together my writing, development work and design projects. You can contact me at connect@christophernathaniel.co.uk.

Using the content

Articles describe my own work and views at the date shown. Software and services change, so check the relevant documentation before using a technique in your own project. You’re welcome to link to an article or quote a short passage with attribution. Please ask before reproducing a complete article or design.

Project names, client work and third-party material remain the property of their respective owners. Links to other websites are provided for context; those sites have their own terms and privacy policies.

When you get in touch

I’m responsible for the personal information you provide through this website. The contact form collects your name, email address and message so I can read your enquiry and reply. Providing this information is optional, but I need an email address to respond.

I use these details for my legitimate interest in responding to correspondence and discussing potential work. If you ask about a project, I may also use them to take steps at your request before entering a contract. I don’t use contact enquiries to add you to a mailing list.

Storage and service providers

Messages are stored in the website’s enquiry records, hosted on DigitalOcean. Email notifications from the contact form are currently disabled. DigitalOcean processes information to provide the hosting service. Contact-form IP address storage is disabled. Enquiries are kept while they are needed for the conversation and any related work; you can ask me about an enquiry or request its deletion using the address above.

Analytics and cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, I use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, how visitors find the site and which devices they use. Google receives information about your visit and a cookie identifier. I use this for site statistics, with advertising features disabled in the website’s tag.

The Google tag only loads after you accept. Declining leaves analytics off. Your choice is stored in this browser for 180 days, and you can change it using Cookie settings in the footer. Analytics cookies are set to expire after 180 days of inactivity. Withdrawing consent stops future collection from this browser; it does not erase information already collected.

Google processes analytics information and may process it outside the UK. Read Google’s privacy policy for information about its services and safeguards. You can contact me using the email address above about information collected through this site.

WordPress uses essential cookies for people who sign in to manage the site. Visiting LinkedIn, Instagram or another linked service takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing, or receive a portable copy. Email me if you would like to make a request or raise a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
