I built a WordPress website for a specialist in private yacht expeditions to remote parts of the world. Photography and film are a large part of the site, but visitors also need practical information about the places, vessels and work involved.
The development had to accommodate both. Full-screen media can introduce the experience, while the surrounding interface needs to make the detail accessible to someone seriously considering an expedition.
Information alongside the imagery
The site uses interactive information controls to add context about destinations, vessels and the environments being visited. These details sit within the visual experience, giving visitors a way to learn more without turning every image-led section into a long article.
The charter area also provides a more direct route into the fleet. Visitors can narrow the listings by destination, price and guest numbers, then continue into individual yacht pages. Separate content covers expedition destinations and the operational side of the business.
Connecting discovery with an enquiry
The website brings those routes together around an enquiry-led service. Someone can start with a place or a vessel, explore the relevant information, and contact the team to discuss the trip.
My contribution was implementing the website and its interactive features from the supplied design. The distinctive part of the build is the relationship between the large visual sections and the supporting information: the photographs draw attention, while the controls and content make that attention useful.
