ChatAI

ChatAI is a technical demonstration of a context-aware assistant built with React and the OpenAI API, with optional local-model support. It explores responses to workplace messages using relevant calendar, task, project and conversation context. It is not offered as a public product.

Goal

I wanted to explore an assistant that could respond with relevant working context rather than a generic automated message. The demo assembles information about availability, active tasks and recent conversations before asking the model to draft a response.

The prototype

The prototype connects several data sources and supports cloud or local-model experiments. It provides a way to test the context pipeline, API handling and interface, while making response quality and appropriate data access part of the design work.

Context pipeline

I built a pipeline that gathers relevant working information before asking the model to draft a response. Incoming messages trigger a fresh snapshot of activity, availability and project context, allowing the prototype to test how that information affects the generated reply.

Connecting working context

The prototype explores calendar entries, project information, time records, email threads and conversation history as context sources. The implementation work covers preparing that information, passing it to the model and presenting the response in the React interface. Data access and response quality remain part of the evaluation.
